Carolyn C. Wiley earned her J.D. and M.A. from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law and Korbel School of International Studies in 2005, and has been practicing law in Colorado since 2006. In 2017 she opened Wiley Legal Counsel, LLC, focused on the three areas of law she is the most passionate about: estate planning, family law, and business advising.
Carolyn C. Wiley enjoys working with her clients so that they understand how best to resolve their matters while also focusing on the best use of the dollars they allocate toward that resolution. She enjoys building professional relationships with her clients, many of whom return to Wiley Legal Counsel, LLC to seek additional advice, when, for example their estate plans or prenups need review, or their businesses are expanding.
She was honored to receive the 2019 Super Lawyer's Rising Stars recognition for her work in family law. The firm's family law philosophy is that almost all such matters can be resolved outside of Court, but if litigation becomes necessary, we work closely with our clients to make sure they are well-prepared.
In addition to the law firm, Ms. Wiley focuses on volunteer and community work. Some of the volunteer work she is most proud of includes sitting on the premarital agreements subcommittee of the Colorado Bar Association Trust and Estate Section's Orange Book Forms committee, co-chairing the mentorship committee of the Arapahoe County Bar Association, and chairing a local public education family partnership program. Ms. Wiley also manages a non-profit organization and coordinates an art school.
Ms. Wiley's prior legal experience includes working as an intern at Denver District Court, and in Canada for a multinational engineering firm, being hired after law school by the private law firm of one of her professors, and later being hired by a respected private law firm as a family law litigation associate. She graduated from St. Olaf College in 2002 with a B.A. in political science.
